One of the most beautiful buildings in Havana. Especially now that it has been restored (and restored perfectly). The Capitol was built in 1929 under President Gerardo Machado. It is curious that the image of the current president was on the reliefs inside the building, but in 1933 Machado was overthrown, and his image was erased (and they erased it without really worrying about its appearance). The Capitol in Havana is similar to the Capitol in Washington, but online sources claim that the American building was not a prototype of the Havana one. Perhaps so, because this capitol is similar, for example, to St. Peter's Cathedral... You can approach the Capitol, go to the steps, and take a picture. If the day turns out to be sunny (and are there any non-sunny days here?), then the blue sky will perfectly match the white Capitol. The building, in my opinion, is a must-see, but you are unlikely to miss it - the Capitol is located in the very center of Havana.

An interesting building of the current parliament. The ticket office is on the opposite side across the street, entrance is $ 20, payment is made with a Mir card, you will need a passport or passport photo

A wonderful parliament. It is higher than the American one, although it was built 126 years later. It's a pity that you can't go inside. And it's a shame. There was a barker standing near the Capitol with a sign for a taxi. I asked him how to get to Hemingway's Floridita. He smiled: it's better to get there, go far. Although, my wife and I didn't know that there was a 500-meter walk. "How much does it cost to get there?" we ask. He: "Ten dollars." Well, I think, of course, let's go. We took a taxi around, picked it up, and said, "Twenty dollars." I got angry.:: Why? And he shows in small print on the sign at the bottom: 10 person. Per person, then. And he's smiling. Divorce for money. Well, it's your own fault. You can't relax in Cuba. There are no friends here..

The Capitol of Havana is a grandiose building with an American face and a Cuban soul. A very impressive building in the very center of the city. It resembles the Capitol in Washington in style, but with a tropical accent — the sun, greenery and lively streets around. The architecture is powerful, the columns are huge, and the facade seems to have been specially created for photographs of "me and civilization." The parliament is currently working inside, but part of the building can be viewed. Inside there is marble, stucco, a glass dome, everything is truly solemn. The atmosphere was like I was in another era, where important people in hats decided fate. Tip: it's better to come in the morning — the light is softer, there are fewer people, and you can safely take a picture against the background of the stairs. If the review was useful, please like it. Let Cuba continue to amaze not only with its beaches, but also with its architecture. 🏛

Repairs were underway, so I looked at this incredible architectural object from the outside with certain exceptions.. The huge dome was partially patched (a little later it was restored and gilded with 642 million rubles allocated by the Russian Federation). It's okay, when I was there, I appreciated that even in scaffolding it's a powerful thing! One of the most substantial buildings in the Caribbean region, built on the model and likeness of the Washington Capitol of the United States (now USA). 93-meter Capitol ("Palace of Congress") It was built in 1929 by the efforts of the Cuban dictator, in fact, and president by profession, Gerardo Machado, nicknamed "Tropical Mussolini." The architects were Eugenio Rainieri Piedra and Raul Otero. By the way, the Washington Capitol, with its 88 meters, will be lower than the Havana one.. It was built on the site of an ancient wall, park and Botanical Garden, on former railway lands and was intended for local parliamentarians as a replacement for the Palace of Captain Generals. At one time, the Cuban Academy of Sciences met here and the Ministry of Industry functioned. The Cuban unicameral Parliament, the National Assembly of People's Power, is currently meeting here. In 2019, the building was renovated with the support of Russia. Interestingly, inside the building is a 17-meter gilded (gilding and restoration also with Russian money) sculpture of a girl from the Republic of Cuba with a shield and spear by the Italian sculptor Angelo Zanelli, sculpted by him in 1929 from the model of Lily Valti, one of the largest bronze statues in the world. And in the local Hall of lost steps (Salon de los Pasos Perdidos) You can't hear how you and others stomp..

The Capitol in Havana is one of the rare restored buildings in the city. It's a very large-scale building. One of the most significant places in Cuba. It is not possible to pass by! Appreciate the red view from the roofs of neighboring buildings

A beautiful building. In the very center of Old Havana, it resembles the building of the U.S. Capitol, in Washington… One of the most touristic places in the city, within walking distance from the Hemingway places of Havana. A photo on the front stairs is a must!

In fact, the building is smaller in life. In the photo, it seemed that the Capitol was larger in size.

The beautiful Havana Capitol stands out vividly in the very center of Havana. It was built in 1929, and now houses the local parliament.
