Zelve is one of the most atmospheric places in Cappadocia. This is not just an open-air museum, but a whole abandoned city in the rocks, where you can freely walk and explore caves, tunnels and old houses. The main difference from other locations is that there are much fewer people here, and due to this, the feeling of real immersion. The silence, spaciousness and views of the unusual cliffs create a special atmosphere.

Visit: end of April 2026, not hot. Price: 12-13€ entrance, Parking 100-150 liras We accidentally got into Zelve. And they never regretted it! There are hundreds of living rooms, kitchens, and even a mosque carved in tufa. In 1952, the authorities recognized the rocks as emergency and the people were relocated to a neighboring village. Since then, the city has been empty, and time has really stopped here.
