An atmospheric place! Definitely worth a visit. We were in the evening and there were very few people, I wanted to see beautiful sunsets, but I was unlucky with the weather. And it was quite cloudy. It's a long way to go in both directions, it will be difficult with children. But there is an opportunity to ride for a small fee on a nice loaf, gathering a group. But keep in mind that after 18:00 you can only return on foot, the staff hack on a personal car, but there is no guarantee! There are covered benches all along the way, which is a huge plus.

I was here at the end of September 2024. The place is amazing. Beautiful photos. The canyon is 12 million years old. The depth is 200 meters. The height of the steep mountains is from 150-300 meters. It's impressive. We walked for 4 hours. It is 4 times smaller than the Grand Canyon in America, but still on a large scale. Lucky with the weather is important. I recommend it! You can have lunch there. It takes 3.5 hours from Almaty.
