Huge queues are forming, and people are smoking from all sides. Checkpoint workers treat people like cattle, shout, and use their hands to disperse the queue. There is no organized passage system. We were walking in a group of 3 people, as a result we were separated, 2 of them were allowed in, one was missing. Long waiting time. I'll never cross the border like that again. Stoned, deafened by the screams of customs officers, not in the mood.

I just looked at the reviews for this checkpoint and was surprised that someone was not allowed into Georgia on the way back. Everything went well with me! I got to the border from Batumi together with the locals on a packed bus number 16 (the fare costs 0.70 lari according to the Batumi Card). I went on a hike. From the very beginning, everything was going great: everyone stood in line and waited calmly for the doors to open and the check to begin. It didn't take long — literally 10 minutes. There were about 5-7 windows, each with 8 people. There were many citizens of Georgia, Turkey and Kazakhstan among the passers-by. I was checked with a Russian passport as quickly as the others, and I did not notice any bias. By the way, the Georgian customs officer spoke in Russian, for which I thank him very much! After that, we walked a short distance to the Turkish side — there were no problems there either. Everything about everything took no more than 30 minutes. We took a minibus from Sarpi to the Turkish city of Hop for 40 lira. By the way, a life hack: it is better to change money on the territory of Georgia, since there are no exchangers on the Turkish side immediately after customs. Although, as far as I understand, minibus drivers don't care what you pay for — they accept both GEL and lira. If you are planning a shopping trip, it is most profitable to exchange dollars, euros or lari at the information desk (to the left of the entrance) in the Istanbul Bazaar Alışveriş Merkezi shopping center right in the Hop. My plan was simple: I bought things in the city and drove them back to customs. And here, in the reviews, many wrote that the Georgian side did not let them back in. This is very strange for me, because my return trip was perfect — very quickly, politely and without unnecessary questions. I don't know why the authors of the bad reviews displeased the border guards so much.

They were groundlessly denied entry to Georgia at the border from Turkey. Although we have shown the availability of a reservation to the hotel. There are no clear explanations for the reason for the refusal.
