Chalk quarry near Uralsky After exploring the planned sights of Uralsk, I decided to look for something interesting on the map. My eye was attracted by a turquoise spot on the outskirts of the city, reminiscent of a kaolin quarry in the Chelyabinsk region. The trip promised to be short – only half an hour, and I set off without hesitation. My imagination pictured the "Ural Bali" version 2.0. But how wrong I was! When I got to the quarry, I looked inside and saw no water. At all. Perhaps due to the drought, or maybe the shallowing of the Ural River after last year's floods affected the fact that the water almost completely left the quarry. There was only a small lake left, which did not match the image of "Fabulous Bali" at all. But since I arrived, I decided to take a walk around the chalk quarry in search of interesting shots. Besides me, another family was walking here, hoping to see the beautiful turquoise water. After reading about this place at home, I learned that water can be found here mainly in spring or after rainy days. And if you dig into the rocks near the crumbling slopes, you can try your luck and find fossils.
