The beauty of nature: The guests are delighted with the coniferous forests, clear lakes and rocks (Zhumbaktas, Okzhetpes, Kokshetau Mountain/Sinyukha). The air is compared to Swiss air . · Outdoor activities: You can go boating, hiking, cycling (there is a great bike path), quad biking and even paragliding. · Proximity to Astana: This is an ideal option for a quick weekend reboot — just 2.5–3 hours by car or on a comfortable commuter train. The main disadvantages and complaints · Entrance and Parking: Entrance fee (1,000-1,500 tenge) + hourly parking fee (150 tenge/hour) is charged, and there are often not enough places. · Closed Toilets: This is the most common complaint. During the peak season, public toilets in Abylai Khan's Glade are often locked or "serviced," which is why people go into the woods. · "Space" Prices: Vacations are often more expensive than in Turkey or Egypt. Hotels charge from 40,000 to 115,000 tenge per night, and they charge 3,000 to 6,000 tenge for boat rentals or archery. · Overcrowding and commerce: On weekends it is very crowded, there is a lot of garbage, and the coastline is actively being built up by hotels, which spoils the view. 💡 Prices at the resort (for 2025) · Entrance/Parking: Entrance 1000-1500 tenge, parking 150 tenge/hour . · Activities: Bicycle (2,000 tg/30 min), bow (3,000 tg/10 arrows), boat (~1,000 tg/person). · Food and service: Lunch in a cafe (from 4,000-5,000 tenge/person), paid toilet (150-200 tenge) . · Accommodation: Guest houses from 5,000 tenge/place, hotels from 15,000 tenge, suites from 40,000 tenge . Verdict: should I go or not? Burabai is a wonderful park for walking and trekking. If you go to admire the rocks and breathe the air, you will be satisfied. But if you expect a high level of service, civilized beaches and want to "relax like abroad", the resort can be very disappointing due to the discrepancy between price and quality. Tip: Come on a weekday, take food and wet wipes with you, and book your accommodation in advance in guest houses away from the central clearing. I hope this review will help you get your bearings. If you have any other questions, ask!
