An attractive place, located in the historic district of Phuket, the Old Town. Only the very appearance of the building and the territory makes an impression. The cuisine is delicious, everything is brought quickly, but sometimes they may forget that they did not bring the tom-yam, but indicate it in the receipt. Otherwise, it's beautiful, delicious, and interesting.

We found the Blue Elephant restaurant by chance while walking through Phuket's old town. And, probably, it is such accidental finds that later become the most memorable moments of the trip. We were just walking along the noisy streets, turned a little to the side — and we were literally stopped by the incredible sound of birds. They were chirping very loudly and beautifully, and this sound came from a huge tree with vines of some incredible beauty. We stood and looked at it for a very long time, because the place looked fabulous. It became interesting to see what was inside the building nearby, and as we got closer, we saw the Blue Elephant sign. It was clear from the very first seconds that this was a high-level restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and escorted inside, everything looked luxurious, but at the same time incredibly atmospheric and cozy. We asked the menu to look at the prices, and yes, the restaurant is really expensive. Since we already had a full dinner planned elsewhere, we decided to stay at least for desserts and cocktails, because we really wanted to feel the atmosphere of this place. And it was absolutely the right decision. Later we found out that Blue Elephant is not just a restaurant, but also one of the most famous culinary schools in Thailand. But for me, it's a separate love altogether. When I later went to their website and saw the description of the master classes - with a trip to the market with the chef, stories about spices, local products and Thai cuisine — I felt incredibly sorry that I found out about it at the end of the trip, when everything was scheduled. I am sure that on my next visit I will definitely come to the culinary course. As for the restaurant itself, everything was at the level of a real gastronomic experience. We ordered cocktails because it would be strange not to try them in a restaurant that has won a Michelin award for its cocktail list. And the cocktails really turned out to be amazing — incredibly tasty, complex, perfectly balanced. Of the desserts, one was the classic Thai sticky rice with mango, but in the restaurant's performance it was on a completely different level: the serving, textures, coconut ice cream — everything together was just perfect. The second dessert also had very local flavors and ingredients — unusual, interesting and very atmospheric for a trip to Thailand. The presentation generally deserves special admiration — everything looks like real art. But the most touching moment was the surprise from the restaurant. The waiters found out that it was my birthday and congratulated me incredibly. I was given a huge spectacular serve in the form of a dragon, it looked fantastic. And then the waiter also gave me orchids. It was so unexpected and pleasant that the emotions remained for the whole trip. And, of course, it is impossible not to mention the very atmosphere of the place. The restaurant is located in an ancient mansion of a tin magnate, which is more than a hundred years old, and the spirit of this house is completely preserved inside: architecture, interior details, the atmosphere of old Phuket. You can literally feel the history of this place. As a result, Blue Elephant is not just a restaurant, but a real experience and a very beautiful memory of the trip. I strongly advise everyone who will be in Phuket to visit it, especially if you want not just to eat, but to get an atmosphere, emotions and a really special evening.
