A very interesting place to visit. The scale of the sculpture is impressive! It is spread out in such a way that it can be seen from tens of kilometers away, even from neighboring islands! We arrived with our family by car. There was a traffic controller at the entrance and showed me where to go. Large free parking, there was a place. It takes about five to seven minutes to walk from the parking lot to the central staircase. There is a table in front of the entrance, and employees offer long shawls to women whose clothes do not comply with the rules of initiation for money. In my opinion, short shorts and open shoulders should be covered. The cost of the handkerchief is 200 baht. They offer it very unobtrusively, so some people whim without following these rules. On the approach to the central staircase, on the left side there are very beautiful benches made of tree roots. We were between 12 and 13 o'clock, and there were a lot of people. It's difficult to take a picture without someone else getting into the frame)) There are magnificent views from the top! Please note that according to the rules, after climbing the central staircase, they go down the other one so as not to turn their backs to the Buddha. But, I repeat, the attitude towards tourists is very loyal and with the understanding that many people do not know these rules, and there are not signs everywhere. A monkey was walking on the landing in front of the central staircase and begging for water and food from tourists. The total time of the walk, taking into account the inspection of all locations, took just over an hour. I recommend a place to visit

Phuket's Big Buddha is located on top of Nakaked Hill near Chalong. Many years ago, my husband and I visited this place. The place is really amazing in its scale and beauty. The statue is 45 meters high and 25 meters wide at the base, making it one of the tallest in the country. It is made entirely of white Burmese marble, which dazzlingly shines under the rays of the tropical sun, creating an unforgettable sight. The Big Buddha Complex is one of the best viewing platforms on the island. A breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view opens from the top of the hill. From here you can admire the coast, including Chalong Bay, as well as the beaches of Kata and Karon. Visiting this place leaves a feeling of peace, and bells and Buddhist flags tinkling in the wind create a special, meditative atmosphere. At the end of August 2024, after prolonged rains, a landslide occurred on Mount Nakaked. Stone and earthen masses collapsed on the villas on the slope and claimed the lives of 13 people. More than 30 others were injured. In response to the tragedy, access to the Buddha was closed, and discussions began about the possible relocation or demolition of the statue. So far, there is no understanding when the passage will be opened and we will be able to admire the beauty, the panoramic view and the Big Buddha again.

It's a nice place. The temple is open until 18:00, then the monks leave. But you can visit the area around the Buddha itself for about an hour (you will be allowed in a roundabout way)
