Beautiful landmark and one of the most striking buildings in Berlin. Even from the outside, the cathedral is impressive with its massive dome and detailed architecture. The square around it is lively and a nice place to sit and enjoy the view. Definitely worth stopping by when exploring the city.

I was very impressed by the cathedral! Very rich interior decoration. Unfortunately, there was no organ concert at the time of the visit. The impression was compensated by a visit to the observation deck. Berlin is clearly visible! The height of the cathedral is 98 meters, so the ascent to the site is very difficult. This should be taken into account by people with diseases of the joints and cardiovascular system. Tickets are sold at a vending machine next to the entrance. The cost for an adult is 10€

Berlin Cathedral is a place that is impossible to pass by. The architects conceived it as the main church for all European Lutherans, but the building turned out to be so rich and bright that it looks more like a royal palace than a Protestant church. The cathedral was built for 11 years, from 1894 to 1905, and it was supposed to serve as the court church of the Hohenzollern dynasty. Interestingly, there used to be another temple on this site — the neoclassical Karl Schinkel Cathedral. But Emperor William II considered it too modest and ordered it to be demolished. A new, grandiose Baroque cathedral was built in its place. Today it is one of the most impressive buildings in Berlin: the majestic facade, the rich interior and the feeling that you are in the center of history. If you love the architecture and atmosphere of the old European capitals, the cathedral should definitely be included in the itinerary.
