As for the road between the Russian and Kazakh checkpoints, it's a no-man's-land road and they don't make it so that they don't drive, and after Kazakh customs, well, there are voles there, you can safely drive, at customs after Petropavlovsk I went there last year, there's a longer queue than here and longer in time.
