I came to study at ARTESS a year ago and I have been satisfied with my choice all this time.I draw for myself with a professional future in mind, when I came I didn't know what I wanted at all.With the competent input of the teachers, I was able to try different materials, learned about different styles and directions in creativity, they introduced me to graphics, what painting and composition are, and explained why all this is necessary.They explained that I was eager to draw seemingly boring still lifes of plaster heads and rosettes, and after composing stupid formal compositions, I want to try again to make it better and cooler. Today I have a much better understanding of what I want to do in my work, what I don't want, which is also quite important, and where to move on. I also like the approach to learning.They don't put pressure on you or stand over your soul, but they will correct you at the right moment and tell you what to do next.Teachers give you moderate freedom of action and choice on how to conduct your work so that you can learn to make decisions on your own, rather than blindly following orders.In the classroom, you learn the autonomy and courage to make mistakes and draw conclusions from them.The teacher helps, but does not become a crutch, without which you will drown in independent swimming. And it's also very cool that in the classroom they tell you firsthand what it means to be an artist.That behind any beautiful work that breathes, there are piles of sheets covered with I don't know what. That artists, like all people, go to the studio as if to work, and do not wait for the arrival of the muse with a glass of wine and a cigarette.It's easier to offend an artist by saying that he was lucky to be born talented when he put half his life into painting like that. That creativity is not only entertainment, but also a lot of work. And such stories inspire and energize me personally very much. I came to the studio as an adult, when I realized that I wanted not just to paint, but to get a good base and master watercolor. I am very glad that I chose this place and got to Tess.
