The gymnasium is named after Fyodor Yakimovich Perts, an honored teacher, an honorary citizen of Pinsk, and, accordingly, the director of the gymnasium from 1968 to 2007. In 2010, the institution was officially named after him. The gymnasium building consists of a pre-revolutionary building and Soviet-era outbuildings typical of the beginning of the Brezhnev era.
