We were here in August 2024 with an excellent guide, she talked about everything so interestingly that I did not want to leave this place. The Despot's Tower is one of the eleven watchtowers and defensive towers of Manasia. You can climb up to the narrow loopholes by an internal staircase — from here you can enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding area. The complex was declared a cultural monument of exceptional importance in 1979 and is under the protection of the Republic of Serbia. The monastery was included in the UNESCO tentative list in 2010.

A very worthy place to visit. The monastery is located inside the fortress. We were here in 2021, climbing the fortress wall for free. In July 2025, a ticket costs 300 dinars. The ticket was bought at a church store. The view is wonderful. The territory is well maintained and cozy. We bought candles. There is a special place on the street, under a canopy (not in a temple), where you can put candles for the health and repose of loved ones. We were leaving Belgrade. We drove through small towns. The road is not tiring. I strongly advise you to go.
