In May 2025, our son came to us on vacation and we decided to take him to the beautiful lake Ritsa, located in Abkhazia, 80 km away. from the Russian border. We were after torrential rains, and the light blue water of the river was mesmerizing with its rapid flow and wonderful white whitecaps from numerous waves. Entrance to the nationalthe park where the lake is located is paid - 700 rubles per adult. The road is good, wide, and there are plenty of warning signs. Parking is also paid on the lake itself, but if you eat at a particular cafe, then parking near it is free, provided that the meal will be in this institution. After the mountain road, the magnificent surface of the lake suddenly opens up, surrounded on all sides by majestic mountain peaks, which still have winter snow in places. There are a lot of places for snacking on the lake, from stationary cafes to small food outlets. You can ride a variety of swims on the lake.get out and swing on a swing over the water surface of the Ritsa. For lunch, we chose the Grotto cafe, which is located to the right of the entrance to the lake. There is an indoor hall in a modern style, with comfortable armchairs and windows overlooking the lake. There is an outdoor veranda next to the lake. If you place an order and serve yourself, then you only pay the bill (cards are not accepted), if you are served, they accept the order and serve all the dishes, then you must pay 10% for the service to the amount of the bill (indicated in the menu). We ordered a vegetable salad, lamb kebab, a set lunch and khachapur. Everything is very tasty, but the shish kebab is a little dried. The round khachapur is especially awesome.
