It's hard to describe this place in words. A must-visit in Abkhazia. The road is bad in places, but it's feasible even for a subcompact (we drove a Ravon R2). You can drive through Tkuarchal (the road is a little longer than the navigator usually leads, but the arrival in Tkuarchal and a short walk in the city are a separate emotion)

A very atmospheric place, the Cathedral of the 10th century, inside and out there is something to see, the cathedral is built on a large flat cliff, there is a cliff around, the entrance is only from 1 side. The temple has a magnificent view of the mountains and the sea. There are also a couple of ancient abandoned buildings on the territory. Read Wikipedia for more details)
