It is a very spiritual place, there are Russian monks. We were well met and accommodated. The services were very emotional. The views, as well as on the whole of Mount Athos, are magnificent.

A rare, one-of-a-kind place on Earth. Strengthens faith, changes life. In 2016, Abbot Gregory Zoumis passed away to the Lord. The monastery was orphaned. With the elder's departure, his great strength disappeared. The brethren keep the foundations.

Dohiar is located at the very foot of the mountain on the seashore. It is known for the water source that miraculously opened in the monastery. Water is holy and cures alcoholism, smoking, gambling.
